The UK doesn't get the Customs Duty, it all goes to the EU. You will have to take it up with Brussels.

the truth is i'm not too bothered, its just the shock of so much money on an unexpected cash on delivery charge. if i knew beforehand i wouldn't mind. it's still a bargain compared to uk prices
