I tried alot of things already:
Reinstalled Outlook express
Ran ScanDisk
no defrag needed
Ran NortonWinDoc
Tried cleaning out the .dbx files and use fresh ones.
what else?
it takes like 2 mins to open
then it freezes for another min
then it's usable.. what's the deal??

Sorry for those having probs w/OE. This isn't a solution. This is an alternative. My choice after being fed up & numerous probs w/OE. I got rid of it. Now within my browsers IE6 & Opera7.03 (it fully integrates into both) I use & quite enjoy Eudora. Eudora is my default email client in both browsers. Outside of my browsers I use ePrompter as a mini email client. This solution works flawlessly for me.

Another good email program which can replace OE is Foxmail, which includes Hotmail support (it's what I use).
I like it a lot better than any M$ product.

Hey Lamsey, just did a quick search on Foxmail. It doesn't integrate into IE6 or does it? I mean when you click on an email link, does Foxmail pop up? That's what I like about Eudora. Not a pissing contest. Just asking so I can learn. Peace.

No, that's the only thing it doesn't do.
But hey, I don't mind using cut and paste. The rest of the program is great and it's freeware.
