    Oh now I get it. I uninstalled MS Office Prof '03 because I didn't have a working serial and and it goes into a restricted access mode until registered. I uninstalled it and reinstalled MS Office '97 b/c I finally gave up on getting a working serial. That would explain why the icon went away if it was one that was assigned by Office '03.

    Now if I had a serial....
