peat, in reference to what you said about sameer's choice of Symantec corp...
While I respect people's decision to take the Symantec corp route, avast! has the same advantages and is free to use, 100% legally.Originally Posted by peat moss

Oh well, different strokes for different folks I guess... *shrug*
I can only give advice on programs I'v tryed . Didn't mean to offend ,but yes good point . I just thought that since someone took the time to post it the verifieds, it was worth a look. Wish I could try two antivirus side by side to compare myself . Or firewall for that matter, was reading about Sygate tonite .
No no, don't get me wrong... I wasn't offended mate.
It's not a big deal at all. Just that my philosophy is... why crack when there's freeware?
But hey... everyone is entitled to run thier box however they see fit, and that's cool.
Edit: but even I would change to Symantec Corp if avast! ever let me down.

No problems freind . PM sent .
I have used Symantec Corp for years and it's let me down time after time.
If I could get Dr. Web working proper it would be my choice, but until then its BitDefender for me.
ok so i scanned my computer with Symantec Antivirus v10, and it found 5 files which were infacted by some sort of virus. The program automatically quarantined those files....now i m wondering if that's safe? I mean i want to delete those files permanently, but the program is not allowing me to do so.......How can i remove those files?
"I'll be here... I'll be 'waiting'...here... I'll be waiting... for you ... so... If you come here... You'll find me. I promise..."
Don't worry about them. They cannot do anything while in quarantine.
I've been using Symantec AntiVirus for a long time now, and it's kicking ass.
