    They did mention them when I was at school. But that was over 50 years ago.

    Yes, I suppose Fetlock, Hoof, Hand(4") and the likes would all come from a norse. Storm is the only thing I can think, at the moment, that could come from gael.

    Not sure (I may be incredibly wrong here) but I think that the words "carriage" (or is it "cart") and "iron" may have gaelic roots.
