I think he's saying that it's faster to have two because you can put in the CD you want to copy and a blank CD and copy it that way faster.

my 8 month old burner writes cd's @ 32x the newer ones are even faster

Yep , I don't want to save to the harddrive first ,just disk to disk. But not that much longer I guess , Mabye save a little wear and tear ? But I guess at those prices who cares ! Hey I'm Scottish what can I say.
