There's really no getting around the difficulties presented by WinMe.
Something with manual updating would be best, I'd think...
Look at the variety of free versions available and pick the one with the best rep?

NOD32 is the way to go....but you know you can get winxp pro free...

I think XP is more forgiving than you might think, but you need a bit of RAM.

192 ram.

What about the rest ot the system specs?
