no, only if you made a 'backup' with system restore after you bought your pc.

Factory defalts ? I think if you remove the motherboard battery it will do that
Look into that before you try it though
Did you install the OS yourself? Or did you buy your computer from a company like Dell? If so, call and ask, they told me how to, and should you.
I think System Restore has to be ON all the time after you've done
the Restore Point, or things may go tits up.
Needless to say, its OFF on my system.
...so is a lot of other services. i just dont like a lot of useles stuff
runnin' rampant.
I dont have a printer, but yet the stuff is ON by default.
There's a lot of stuff ON by default in WinXP, check Black Vipers pages for more info.
(that is, if you want to know what services are ON on your system and why)
Spoiler: Show
I know I wouldn't want my sysyem back to factory spec.s Not that I would bye a DEll or other HP like system. Drivers and updates change daily . Best thing would be to get hold of a real windows bootable disk and format, reinstall. Then go to your Mother board site for new drivers .Same with video and printer's home sites. Its like buying a used computer, you never get the disk's . But people find the drivers and set it up how they want. Of course you'll loose all the programs that came bundled on a preinstalled system.
that just resets the cmos\bios which is NOT what he wants.Originally Posted by TheAntiHero
sameer, isn't the recovery disc exactly what you want?
@afronaut, that's exactly what I do. Except I find it easier to just look at my services.msc (start>run>services.msc) list, look at what's "running", then search google for that service and see if it's disable-able. and nice sig too.
I'm confused with his other thread. Are we talking about the same computer?

This is for my second PC. It only has around 1.00 GB left...I used around 78.00Gigs or so.....and it has a bit spyware and virus so i thought of doing a fresh start with it by restoring it to factory defaults.
Ya only if it worked! My old Pc (Medion) came with 2 Recovery CD's. I tried doing Factory default with 1st disk that didn't work...but now I have found da bloody 2nd disk (after lookin all over my house for 3 days) and I tested it...it's workin great!sameer, isn't the recovery disc exactly what you want?
I'm glad i found da disk.
BTW how can i keep all my bookmarks before i do factory default?
