Hey all,
Just a quick question,
I have a 4.36gb .mkv movie, and I was going to transcode it to dvd using ConvertXtoDVD, I want to know if there is a faster/better way of doing this.
thanks,
donvito

I have never used ConvertXtoDVD but have used Super...it's a neat little program and it's free....you can tweak the audio and video on the output as well. Check it out and let me know how it compares...I might want to try ConvertXtoDVD...good luck donvito

cool program jrzy, I will definitely try.
@donvito, I've tried once to convert an x264 video to a dvd using convertxtodvd, but the final product was flawed. I don't know if the problem was in the encoding or the burning, but it would play fine on my computer and not at all on my stand-alone player.

Convert mkv to DVD? That's sacriledge. If you are looking for conversion advice try www.doom9.org.
Probably the most definitive site on DVD backup/conversion on the net.

thanks for the responses guys, this is really wierd...
I successfully converted the movie using mkvmerge and ConvertXtoDVD, but the audio doesn't work on my standalone or on a ps2, I think that the audio might have been encoded in a non-standard format, as it will play on my computer.
EDIT: VLC reports the audio stream of the .vob files as DTS, which should play...? hmm.
any ideas? thanks,
donvito
