    yea same thing... doesnt work w/ clone cd or alcohol 120% either... it just makes an image file first...

    probably lies in system somewhere,
    maybe upgrade firmware? try turning on dma mode.
    maybe aspi drivers?

    thing you could try,
    1. updating the firmware of your cd-rw, (its kinda like a bios in p.c.) check out liteon for it.
    2. turn on dma mode on for your drives, assuming you have xp. goto device manager, then ide ata/atapi controllers, then open up primary ide channel, advanced settings, then the little drop down boxes, set them both to dma if available, and do the same for secondary ide channels.
    3. not to sure myself.

    umm i'll try the second one... the first one im not sure but i know its reading both drives.... since during bootup i see both drives....

    my cdrom drive was PIO for one of them but i changed it and it seems the same....

    You should have your CD-ROM set as the master and your CD-R set as the slave.

    It's wise to use the CD-ROM for reading all of your CDs. Use the CD-R just for burning. This saves wear and tear on the burner.

    its drivers for your cdrom basically i think;
