I was meaning more about just buying a system versus building ones own . I think its a good deal if you take the time to look . Sure, its not as much fun but just my opinion .

Just because i don't agree doesn't mean I don't care about your opinion or even that you're wrong. I haven't seen a deal where it works out better but maybe I'm not looking right

I completely agree with you when the budget is below @$700.

$700-800 is about the minimum necessary to build a decent machine yourself- not including software.
Below that threshold and it's hard to beat the big guys, although you will start to see corners being cut in component quality.

Thats my problem right there. I just build a decent system for $300 and the components are way better than the low end crappy intel boards you get from Dell or GW. That alone is worth it IMO

Is it a gamer or just a all around system for e-mail , browsing and schoul projets etc. ?

A link is here for an idea of a config that may work . The p4 or Amd Power system gives you a goal for say under $ 600 cdn .

    Nobody always wins.
Everyone has an opinion and the "winner" is usually the original poster who gets all sorts of info just for the asking.

    Feeling kinda PC this morning....
