I wouldn't really call it spyware, just statistics analyses. It no different than hit counters and site traffic logs. Besides, PageRank isn't installed without your consent.

but sending all that info to google is a bad idea, sending that much info to any company is a bad idea
think about the consequences of any 1 person having that much info on you so I'll stat it again, if you must use it, turn off page rank !
The info sent is anonymous. And of course it should be disabled. I'm just saying that it isn't as harmful as people think. It's not like gator or anything.
