hey thanks so much for the detailed reply! Yes, .wav files are way much bigger in file size, but for ringtones, we won't be using the whole music/file, just a portion like lets say only the chorus or the intro. I'm using Nokia 7650, and it can not playback mp3 files for ringtones.

i have downloaded some wav files (short ones) that is about 20kb only in size, try to search for sound effects. The quality are quite good, but i want to try to make my own
