I have a couple of mpgs that are about 200mb each and i want to decompress them to make them alot smaller. making each one a zip does not make them smaller, but what about a .RAR? i already think they are decoded so re-docoding them wont do anything. i want it so when you make it smaller it could work on a mac too, thanks

Try WinRar it might decrease size a little bit but I don't think it will do a great deal so just burn to disc.

It's impossibile to make them smaller putting them into a .rar or .zip or even .tar folder only compress them as in you don't have to get each single file by itself. So in other words you can't make the files smaller.

So if it is taking up too much space or something I suggest u burn it as a multisession data disc.

maybe 100kb on a gig
just not alot cause its alread compressed in movie formate, lust like trying to compress a mp3, it doesn't compress much at all

Has said above video is already in a compressed format and can't be compressed any further. However, you can make the file smaller by using an application to decrease the quality of the video.
I think TMPGEnc can do that....

Plus we just told him it won't make it that much smaller if he did it anyway.

Well, you could see a significant decrease in the size of the video if you reduce the number of fps or size of the picture.

Well, first of all i don't want to decrease the quality any more because the quality isnt to great by itself. I don't want to burn it because I want to post it on my website and I only have like 200mb free.
