Is it just the drive ? Or is it the media ?
I think it's both
i maxed out at 85 minutes on my TDK 40x12x48 with a no-brand cdr media

80;s my limit
85 mins is probably the most u will get out of a cd
unless its an image file as these can usually burn like 800mb on 700mb cds so im not sure how many "minutes" you could fit on there...
85 sounds about right tho...
Usually 718 MB is a safe maximum
are overburning simulations accurate ?
i mean, if the simulation is successful, does that mean it is overburnable to 86 or even 87 mins ?
My last two burns: 84:32 and 85:14. I was really surprised; usually it doesn't hesitate to spit 'em back if I'm over 70 min. but thats for no-name, these were TDK.

ive burned imgs that over 700mb without problem but music they dont burn unless under 80min
I heard you can damage your drive by overburning. Am I right (Probably not)?
I never heard of that. Why would it damage your drive?Originally posted by The Knife Thrower@16 March 2003 - 09:40
