Depends on the review that you read.
Several other sinks have bested the TRs in different reviews.

The 120 should be released soon.

But the thermalrights are all coper, and huge...I wouldnt think anything would top them except maybe the swiftechs that are like 90 bucks.

When are the 120s supposed to be realeased? And will the sp-97 and sp-120 both fit on a mobile 2500XP? The Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe will have the mounting holes so it should be fine. What is the price of the 120s supposed to be?

BTW this is bigdawgfoxx

The SP-120 is souly P4 based as far as I know, there is probably a version coming out for AMD though, possibly the xp120 which clocker mentioned?

Why the mobile?

Less performance with lower FSB of only 266MHz.

The non mobile Barton 2500+ is better suited for non modile use.
people have been able to oc them almost to 3 GHZ and most on air cooling.
I find that hard to believe.

Check that....

Impossible to believe.

Maybe I exagerated a bit but people have been able to reach 2.9 or 2.8 on watercooling though.

The XP-120 is on the site that I mentioned...but I dont see anything about an sp-120.

Ok...what heatsink is like the best for a mobile 2500XP? I thought the SP-97 was...but w/e yall say So whats like the best one?

Edit: The XP-120 is for both AMD and Intel.

The XP-120 is a lot smaller then the sp-94..so wouldnt that be worse or what? It dont look like its coper either..

AMD: Athlon64 FX 3200+/Athlon64 3200+ and above
Intel: Pentium-4 socket-478 3.2 GHz and above

Those are the specs on the page...would they even fit on a socket a?

Why don't you guys make it easier for us to help you?

Post links and pictures to products you discuss: http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/m...duct_xp120.htm

The XP 120 looks a lot bigger than the SP-94 to me:
Image Resized
[img]http://www.systemcooling.com/images/reviews/Heatsinks/Thermalright_XP-120/heatsink2_lg.jpg' width='200' height='120' border='0' alt='click for full size view'>
This image might, though. No, that's not some new heatpipe chipset cooler on the left. That's actually a full scale, big as life Thermalright SP-94. NOW you know why it's called the XP-120. This cooler is the first one we've seen to utilize a 120mm fan as its native unit, without an adapter. Don't let the sheer size fool you though. Even though it dwarfs the SP-94 in size, its primarily aluminum construction (the base and heat pipes are nickel plated copper) makes it feel feather-light, which it almost is, comparatively speaking, weighing in at almost 220 grams less than the SP-94.

Looks like the XP-120 isn't for the AMD XP after all. Not sure about this.

Yeah, but we dont want the sp-94 we are getting the xp-97.

I dont think it is for the XP series like you said..

What is the Xp 120 made of?

I think we will just go with the SP-97...which I was asking if it would work with mobile and noone has said if it would..but im pretty sure it would...thanks for your help.
