Your local library should be able to provide you with old maps of Britain, where you&#39;ll find the whole of South West England was in fact South Wales, hence the proliferation of Welsh names there. If l had more time l would scan some in and show you, but l don&#39;t.

South England was never a part of South Wales. That&#39;s crazy talk. Unless you know benevolent cartographer you don&#39;t have any maps to show that either.

The similarity of some placenames and dialects in Wales and the South West is because when the Angles, Saxons and Jutes invaded Britain the indigenous Celts were pushed into the western extremities of the UK - Wales, Devon, Cornwall and Scotland. Some went overseas to Brittany, Normandy and Ireland too.

The dog wandered the house until 1am looking for it&#39;s owner. So I locked him in my room and he tried to get in my bed, being a sausage dog he couldn&#39;t make it and I fell asleep whilst he was scrambling to climb up.

I awoke 3 hours later to find him still trying to get in. I then kicked him out of my room and he proceeded to wander the house again this time howling. Eventually I got fed up and whacked him on the nose with a newspaper, he then sulked in a corner of my room.
