I'd say get the Creative Zen... IMO ipods are way to over rated
well it pretty much comes down to iPod vs. Creative Zen.
creative zen:
30GB - $219
battery time - 14-24 hrs
size: bigger
ipod:
20GB - ~$280 from ipods4less.com ( not sure exactly, they're out atm )
battery time - 12 hrs
size: smaller
i dunno. the ipod is a little more expensive, but its smaller. the software for the creative zen looked a little shady. there are more accessories for the ipod.
anyone had experience/problems with these 2 players?
I have a 40GB iPod. It's a great pieve of hardware... Easy to use.
The Creative Zen software is utter crap. I know 2 people who have creative players, and they both have constant problems. Device not recognized, freeze during tranfers, etc. My recommendation: Stay away. There's a reason iPods are expensive, yet so popular. They just plain work good.
I'm not sure about sound quality between the two.Originally Posted by lee551
Depends if you're on a budget.
I found the iPod wayy cooler than the creative. I tried both and iPod is way easier to use too.
But it's personal preference and im not sure about sound quality of the creative, but iPod is AWSOME sound quality.
I sugest to just get a cd player that plays mp3s. Meh, its what I do. My cd player does CDR, CDRW, MP3, AM, FM, TV, and WB. Then just carry the cds. Its not that bad. Three cds is already over 2 gigs of music. And since you can play cdr and cdrw, you can always add songs and delete songs.
noo that just kills the whole idea.Originally Posted by Bishtawiman
size is still an issue, and carrying cd's? i dont wanna carry a backpack & cd's can get scratched. 2gb? i need 16gb+ my collection would easily take up to 25 cds.
scratch the freeipods.com idea. i read the topic here about it, and it didn't seem to well, plus i missed the part about "refer-your-friends."
the iPod is seeming the way to go though.
quick question to those that own one: is there some kind of "keyguard" like on cellphone for the ipod? so that when its in my pocket i dont jack the volume up fast or jump 50 tracks ahead?
iPod has a hold switch on the top just like on most cd players.
Ross: As you have an iPod you can answer this question for me, save me looking up on Google.
Can an iPod hold other types of files? Like a avi file for instance or a game. (Obviously not play them but to transport them from computer to computer...)
