Seen some locals and what not rockabilly bands in local bands lately,
they don't impress with the guitars or vocals but fuckinghell that fatbass just does it for me.
I can't explain it but for me it has teh vibes, specially live.

Not sure how much you see it in Finland, but in Texas it's rather common. It's a nice treat when you get to see someone who can really beat the shit out it and be distinctive.
Robert Earl Keen has a good stand-up bass player.
Kind of depends on which album you listen to, as to whether the bass is prominent or not.

Afronaut...I would suggest that the reason it gives you such feelings is because of the register of the bass itself.
A bass by nature will resonate in your mid-section. This being the center of your "being" you will most likely experience more sensations from it.
