That is a fast track to making a crap computer. The motherboard is the single most important part of the PC. A good motherboard is essential for getting the most out of any of your components.
Think about it - everything plugs into the motherboard, from your CPU to your floppy drive. If your motherboard is crap, then your PC is crap.
Imagine putting a Ferrari engine into an old Volkswagen Beetle and you'll see what I mean.
It's actually wise to get the best motherboard you can afford so you have plenty of upgrade options later.
I'll make a recommendation for you: get a Asus A7N8X Deluxe; IMO it's the best Athlon-based motherboard currently on the market. Or you could wait and get a later revision which supports the new AMD Athlon FSB speed.

Great value for money and a good choice.
I have to say I'd still prefer to look for an nForce2-based motherboard.

yeah, if there is a decent bundle around with it in I may get an nforce, or from seperate parts.
Just gotta go hunt for a cheap yet cool looking case now
