Ireland is a cultured and beautiful land. The Irish are legendarily friendly and accomodating, and there is plenty to see and do over there.
There are a small minority of bigoted arseholes who overshadow all this, however.
Like all places, it depends which area you go to. I'm going to Dublin for a drinking/shopping weekend in November and I can't wait
