I'm real sorry if this has been asked before but I often download mp3 files which when launched are scrambled. I am guessing this is an anti-fraud measure from the music publishers.....am I right?
If so, is there any way of cleaning them up/unscramble them?
Again, apologies if this has been asked a million times before.

Not really. I have downloaded several MP3s at that bitrate which have turned out to be fakes. It seems they've gone to great lengths!
