My apologies if this has been covered before, but I thought this was a great deal and wanted to contribute a little bit.

    What is an R4DS?
It is a way to play backup games on your Nintendo DS. It looks just like a standard DS cartridge, and its really easy to use!

    Where can you get one?
The best deal I've found is at dealextreme. Only $30.68 with free shipping.
Note: The shipping comes from China so it may take a while, but its the
    English version.

Do you need anything else to run backup games?
Yes, you need a micro SD card to put into the cartridge for memory storage. You can get a 1GB one from meritline.com for only $12.95 Shipped

    UPDATE::::
Frys has a 1GB microSD card for $9.99 Shipped!

Hmmm. interesting does this work on lite only or will it work on my regular ds and is it hard to figure out or is it just drag and drop roms onto the card and your good?

just drag and drop roms, its really simple. its really why i like it so much. when you turn it on it overtakes the regular ds menu screen with a list of games to choose. additionally, when you save its not like your saving states, you save like you normally would in your game and it handles it fine.

i'm not sure about a regular ds (i'd assume so but you may need to research that). I am 100% positive that it won't play GBA roms though.

oh and additionally the ds browswer will not work for it either, it requires a memory thingy in the gba slot.

Thx for the info, slim150. If I ever do get my hands on a DS I'm mainly gonna get it for all the Pokemon games, haha.

haha I'll give the new pokemon a try, i remember i had alot of fun playing the red version. the only thing is the game was soo easy. I remember fighting bosses and they would have 3 pokemon and I'd have 6 and keep healing them.

I bought this recently for my little girl from http://www.divineo.cn cost $50.00 shipped but as I'm in the uk that translates to about £25.00 and I recieved it from china in 3 days.
It works great in both the original DS and DS lite but it does'nt play GBA games. The only other flash cart that touches this at the moment for price and features is the M3 simply which is exactly the same as the R4 but with different onboard software.

If you use this and play downloaded games will the games work in multiplayer or online?

Works fine online but single cart multiplayer will sometimes fail although, from experience, this is normally down to using trimmed roms.

Sometimes fail as in sometimes a game works other times it doesn't or as in one game works another game doesn't?

Also, I'm thinking about getting one and not sure how big of a memory card to get. About how many games could I fit on a 1GB card and still have room for saves?
