Money isnt a problem, The 17 Inch Apple MacbookPro or the 24 inch Imac. basically needed for programming, running windows and linux (parallels) . No gaming, just need something fast, I herd the laptops heat up alot? Never had a laptop before, which one would you choose, Im getting it after the new OS comes out

Money isn't a problem ? Buy both then . I'm teasing what do you want to do with it , take to school or over to a friends , work etc . If it's just going to sit on your desk why get a laptop ? Hmmm 17 " or 24 " screen .
Laptops are a little harder to upgrade yourself and parts are expensive , especially a proprietary system like a Mac .

I understand now about the wait for the new O/S .
"The operating system is still the Mac OS X Tiger. The Leopard OS X, with what Apple claims are over 300 new innovations, is expected to be released in October of this year."
