Is it actually possible to get movies or samples with a 1024/768 or superior resolution size?
Then where?

why not just set your resolution to 800x600 when you watch the videos? will look alot better.
also, it's VERY rare that you will find a video in 1024 resolution

I doubt you could get XGA resulution, PAL DVDs are encoded at 720x576 and re-sizing it would make it look horrible. :x

Move It On Over
I have seen files that big around but the files sizes were huge. The problem with it is that there were hardly any sources b/c of that file size, only one guy had it and if he wasn't on you just sat and waited.

Yes, that resolution would be no good it would be all streched out if u need a large resolution I'd advise the one Amarjit posted (720x480/576) 576 is for pal so if u live in the united states most likely u have a ntsc which is 480

seeing as dvd's are 720x576, i would think it isn't possible to get good quality at 1024x768
