I am sceptical about torrent sites and the lack of anonymity. I stick with irc most of the time and newsgroups. Bittorrent is looisng most of it's luster in my opinion. For irc I use IRCDig.com (http://www.ircdig.com) and for newsgroups any of the alt.binary groups would work depending on what you are looking for.

Hi there, in addition to all search engines posted here, I would also like to add IRC Klipper: http://www.ircklipper.info/search.php which is on my opinion very good.

I noticed a post by IRCFrog that created a thread and also someone named jimmy states that IRC Klipper doesn't have spiders of its own...:pinch: Well if I understand right, IRC Klipper doesn't "leech" data from other search engines.... It just don't have the spiders located on the server, and the spiders are actualy humans from different location.

Anyway, I'm hoping that you don't call this a spam ;) and I just wanted to bring this great search engine to your attention and to add it to the list that you have here already.

I'm part of two private sites... One is set up toward adult content, and that one is great with sharing and %uploaded. I never feel that you have to share a file for too long to get to double the downloaded amount. The other site is Television based (since its the thing I download the most) but I have to say that I'm NOT a fan od how slow it uploads files that you download... it seems to be set up to take advantage of people by making your share % so low that you'll have to donate in order to up it to an acceptible level. So in the end I use public sites more often to get my regular shows (and they share back to 2x and more so easily).

So my point is that my experience with 'Private sites' is mixed. I don't think they are the cats meow, but still use them as part of the 'tools' I need to get my content.

Well, I can say I am a member of several differant torrent communities each with there pros and cons and all run pretty much with great staffers. As mentioned above some of the best sites out there are invite only communities
and it is always good when you have the opertunity to join one while the doors are open so, with that I might let everyone know that Th3-Studio (http://www.th3-studio.net) has opened its doors once again for the Christmas and New Years holidays so, be sure to get yourself a membership if you would like before the doors close once more.

Keranga was cool - really cool. But they're really strict. I got my membership one week before their servers (and pirate bay) were taken away. When they returned, my username and password wouldn't work and my request for a new account was declined. I'm still a little bitter.

Thanks to bittorrent, I've gotten used to downloading entire albums conveniently assembled in torrent form. If i can't find a torrent or if I want to fish for better quality, I use soulseek. You can find almost anything on soulseek but risk partial downloads cause people never stay on long enough.

From experience I can say Bitsoup.org and TVTorrents.com are extremely good, good quality uploads and good seeders, also for the poker freaks out there thepokerbay.org is unbelievable for speed and seeder to leecher ratio - I had 1000-10 easily over 1mb/s +.

I would really like a specialised private site that has DVD-R's and such. I have heard Pisexy.org and theDVDclub.org are good, just damn hard to join!
