How much does FilesharingTalk.com make from advertising?

There are quite a few advertisments in tricky areas up top. How often are they clicked? How much revenue do they bring in? Is there any profit-sharing in our future? :D

It didn't used to but since the end of last year this site makes enough the cover the server costs atleast.
It does make more but I won't get too much into that as it's rookiecrd1's business and up to him if he wants to post the specifics.

Excellent, the board is self sustaining.

Now only if rookie didn't have a gambling problem........:(

...then we might be able to talk about that profit sharing hullabaloo.

I think of it like this, just like any other business. If you're not making any money than you won't exist. Yes, some communities can survive from member's donations and self sustain but at some point you're going to have to make some bit of money to cover the cost of all the hard work you put it in. Just barely making the bills and not having anything extra for all your work will just lead to the normal and all to popular, "I love this community and all the members but as of right now, life is too busy. I find myself not having any time to work, live life and keep contributing to our community... blah blah blah". It just means that there is no money and just barely covering the bills is not enough for the amount of work the creator puts in.

The site makes enough to cover itself at least. You can expect that.

I've used the links here for setting up a Newshosting and a Giganews account as I understand you get some sort of commission for them, seems the decent thing to do if I'm going to get an account with them anyway.

Other than that I have all the ads blocked on this site.

What? I've got all the ads blocked on this site, like any normal person would, but I've got a Newshosting account. Have done for ages.

So what, can I get a discount by unblocking some stuff?

Do you make any money when my account auto-renews or just that one time I initially set an account up?

Depends which service you signed up for with our refferal links...

I signed up for a six month Newshosting account, then changed it to a one month account that renewed every month until this month I changed to a Giganews account that is one month and renews every month.

Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure this place wasn't made to be a business, or to make money.

Some cawk was entrusted with administrating it when the person who created it had to move on, and that cawk then sold it on.

I should really be given some special stars if my hardly earned money is going towards the upkeep of this forum. A new user title wouldn't go amiss either, something like "Forum Trustee".

Boards don't necessarily make money. I know a few that are paid for almost entirely by the admins. None as big as this but a lot of fansites etc

any community has the right to save some money .

very logic and i agree with that point of view
