Reputation Basics
You can ONLY give each member ONE point.
So just one for him ;)
Giving A Point To A Member
Give points to those you make productive trades with.
Points can be given to those who give valued invites.
I hope thoses invites are valued (means level 4 at least..) ;)

ofcourse it dosnt mean theyre all scammers but when you get rep points, too others that mean that somebody had a successfull trade with you and that eases their mind to trade with you
people are just more suspicious at people with few posts and no rep because then they are new and people dont know them

uhh, no we dont... lol
you dont think having 50 shows you are somewhat trustedÐ
ok, so the limit wil be 100, after a while 15 people got that, then the limit will be 150... and so on
I think 50 is more than enough and more than that is pretty pointless in mu opinion...

stop looking at the number of the rep points , its bullshit
its much more important to look where the points come from
there is a huge difference between having 50 rep points from n00bs in giveaway threads than having 5 rep points from respected\senior fst members

Those found abusing the Reputation system will have access

I think thats a good idea. For example, I haven't traded once and don't intend to ever. All my rep points were from giveaways and if I had known that BT rep is usually from trading earlier I would have specifically asked my invitee's to not give me rep as it makes me look like a trader when I am not.

i'm not saying user who hides their reps are cheaters/scammers, but cheaters/scammers can hide their rep history to score more in giveaways for more cheating or trading (because reading hundreds of posts is far more time consuming than scanning through the rep point history, so few giveaway op will do it).
The setting helps cheaters/scammers far more than helping a user with a legit reason to do that, so i don't understand why it exists. :)

I think you're wrong some people have rep points that they got from giveaways or whatever but prefer to have them disabled so as not to be associated with trading.
I don't see how it helps scammers to disable it. People don't give out negative rep-points so it gives a pretty one sided view of their history. All they do is show if people have proved trustworthy in the past and trust me some of the people with the biggest reps have turned out to be the biggest scam artists of them all.
If anything rep-points help cheaters and scammers because they lull people having dealings with them into a false sense of security.

damn, you're right. i didn't think this through. :D
i think what would help is this: in the rep history not only show the points given to a user, but also show the points the user gave to others.
This way you can spot cheaters/scammers who stack invites/accounts from giveaways for future trading or more cheating.:)

Maybe a scammer could get a rep point from someone he screwed with a comment like "scammer/cheater/don't trust him/etc" and the scammer could avoid exposure by disabling rp points, at least for a short period of time.

I have 29 rep points, but my bar only comes up with 25? Any ideas?
Untill 25 points it shows the exact numer of points (for example 5, 9 ,17 ,24). After 25 it shows rounded to 5. For example:
you have 29 - it shows 25
you have 30 - it shows 30
you have 32 - it shows 30
you have 44 - it shows 40
you have 45 - it shows 45 :)

I've seen it but even if the guy has a rep point with a comment "scamer" it's not shure that the other guy isn't lying. So for now when you have problems with a scamer you use the reports section :)

It's a great system but unfortunately some users don't use it. Like I have easily given 30+ invites here but only have 21 reps :(
I frankly don't care much about rep points n all but it seems to me other users who make giveaways do

You can choose not to display your rep points in your profile.
You will still be able to see them but nobody else will. :smilie4:
cheers done, i know i could do it, just never found it before.
I still dont like the new name for them though, again its saying trading is fine, and you only get rep points for trading (which is obviously not the case).
If they are going to go this route, then why not have 3 sets of rep points.
1: Member rep points (just for doing good stuff around the forums)
2: Giveaways, (or for tracker staff, making giveaways and getting users in from here)
3: Trading points as they are now.

good thing
but the rep point is now for all the things that you said
But its not
Hover over the tick and you will see it says
"add a Trading rep point to Username"
thats not, add a rep point for this user being a good member and being helpful to the community rep point.
I dont really give a crap about Traders, if they trade they trade, but if they get caught dont come running to the staff on those trackers saying sorry i wont do it again, or my account got hacked crap.
But why should FST encourage it, by having "trading rep points" because thats what they are called now by the looks of it.

Hard to implement ,and no doubt given time people will find a way to abuse it,but I'm in favor of anything that might better this site.
If nothing else people would be better informed with what kind to person that they might be dealing with.

Anyone with a lot of rep points is either a trader or someone who gives away accounts/invites to strangers.
Both of those possibilities mean they break the rules of trackers and personally I don't trust them an inch.

Don't know, True.
But it's not only that, people also gives rep points to members they like, that helped them with some problem/question and/or if they give support to a member in some way.
Also, i prefer to invite people that i don't know than invite supposed friends which then go cheat or gave me an email which are not from them, but from he's friends because they already have it, and then they're friends are retards which go cheat, or, flame, or spam, or even all:frusty:
While here i help people that need it, and even if they don't really need no problem, since they accounts will be disabled due to inactivity.
And here i request for ratio proofs and speedtests, and some other rules, if someone don't follow the rules then i add them to the ignore list and/or simply ignore them, because if he doesn't have brain to follow the rules then he don't have brain for the invite.

I know it's not allowed to "demand" people to give you rep for an invite, but I've seen a lot people request people to rep them in giveaways and I know I've heard of people who ask people to rep them after they give an invite through PM... is that allowed? Even people who say "if you give me rep, your chances of getting invited", etc.
If so, can it be disallowed and can I report it? It's not only annoying, but it's kind of rude and requesting the rep is not really earning it - thus making rep completely inaccurate in showing the decency of a member. In a way, it is kind of forcing people to add rep because though it's stated as a suggestion, the people interested in the invite(s) have little choice in the matter.
I've been seeing a rising amount of giveaways like that recently, just wondered the stance on it...

I completely agree. That seems questionable to me as well. Especially the types that have "no longer trade" in their sig and are handing out a bunch of low level trackers to anyone who asks in hopes they will get enough rep points and karma through giveaways to then request a top level site. :ghey:

Those requesting any rep prior to giving an invite should be reported. If they suggest those that give rep are more likely to get the invite they should be reported also. These situations arent acceptable. Those that ask for rep politly after giving an invite is acceptable...

those who do it for the points will not get what they are after, if i could id already have 20+ points from making accounts on sites and idling them until the sites become invite only. then the invitee/new owner of acc. will try and do the same.

That Rep Points thing, in my opinion, is a biblical proportions disgrace. At least how works now, other thing would be a system like that stoi proposed.
And I´ve read a lot of complains about tricky RP, people who has never traded have comments like "good trader", etc. That should be forbidden, or give the user the capability of accepting or deny the RP before it appears in his profile.

Anyone giving invites to sites, whether high or low level, should look at a users post history rather than rep points. It's already painfully easy to game the system by offering up seed hours, since it's never hard to find people who want them, they're easier to get than low-level invites, and you don't carry the risk you do from inviting someone to a site.

+1, i totally agree. The Rep's doesn't mean anything. Only that people do GA's or Trades.. But the posts are a other thing. It kinda says what kind of person it is.

Could not really care if I never get any rep points here to be honest as they do not mean you are a good member of sites. As for the top sites been there done that and still got some of the accounts let some die thru inactivity due to not being my cup of tea so to speak others I am still a member of even after 18 months or 2 yrs. i think it's useful in sometime because in some giveaways some people ask for rep
points . so useful or not it helps
rep points are useless => simply check "Find all threads started by xxxx" to see all giveaways made by xxxx.

Could a mod remove that rep point?

Some send out BT reps to ruin other people's standing here as a honest member.Any other complaints on this-Report it in the report section.
This problem with others sending fake Bt rep's to deceive others here, not right to lie and rep a member for something another member does not participate in such as trades. Members like this also can rep others without receiving a invite , if they rep members for nothing, no invite, just to be vengeful.? I am sorry to have to write about this but a problem lately and is in the making of ruining the Bt rep system here. A pain for staff here to fix.
If being foolish and BT rep points and calling people traders or writing- Thanks for trading this should stop somehow?
If members-staff know you then nothing to worry about but still should be removed as in the rules on the 1st page-
Is mostly members who cheated here and on their sites that were caught such as all who send these bt rep points out to honest members, to ruin their profile. I hope this can be changed.
Giving A Point To A Member
* Points can be given to those who give free invites.
* Points can be given to those you make trades with.
Members are not reading the rules.
Respect all staff's decisions. This Is not a debate section.

Can someone from staff explain me why all my bt rep has been taken away ?
I don't give a fuck about rep points but i really don't like when a bunch of unfair people abuse their power to establish their authority.
I didn't see any rule who give you the right to take off my rep points, i'm talking about the ones that i got before the [REQ] BT Rep thread.
I'm waiting for your explanation...

I've got a logical explanation for that one. It's simple as it is, u dont have respect for other people and 100% of your comments are simply whine or negative ones (thats 100% true, so why the fuck are u even here), u must be one of those people who enjoy to make people sad, fucking hate u). And besides u do care alot of reputation, in fact u the one here who cares the most about it. Someone just had to tell him.. btw i really feel sorry for u, trying to be somebody when the only thing u are is pathetic.
I just had to say that because i can allways read his replies and they are allways making me mad.
//from my heart to you - Stop being so depressed and try to get some friends.
Edit: well... that might have been a little to much now he might go kill himself, maybe thats the only solution some times......

i enjoy to make people sad cause i help and warn honnest members against beggars like you, who always whine and apply in every GA ?
about reputation, i really wonder where you got this idea since i only gave away 2 or 3 times here.
well, all i can suggest is to consult a doctor if my posts make you so mad, internet shouldn't affect you like that. btw, you're only 17, nothing is too late so get a life instead of whining.
"from my heart to you" - unlike you, my friend are real, they're not some pixels on forums/trackers/irc

Well, Dudilidudo, i got to say that you disappointed me. I know Cinephilia for sure, and this guy has no intentions to ruin everybody's life, even ... he does his best to track every piece of shit who is still in the forum. He may be a little straight sometimes, but this is what happens when you spend your time seeing that traders and cheaters are so massive in a such known forum !
If, in the past, he told you harsh words, there is a reason, and i think that u can't blame him for that one !
Yours faithfully !
