I was just wondering if you guys listen to black metals ???

My fav. are : children of bodom, Cradle of filth, Satryicon, Death, Rotting Christ.

Any one want to recommend any other best, greatly aprricated..

Children of Bodom and Death are not Black metal :D CoB are Melodic Death Metal and Death are death metal (their name says it :P) Also Cradle of Filth are not Black metal exactly, it's can be described as extreme gothic metal. I'd suggest you Dimmu Borgir, they are the widest known Black metal band and they are pretty good in my opinion.

Norway has the longest history in black metal, and there are many good bands from there like Satyricon, Emperor and Dimmu Borgir. I personally like these bands.

i'd have to also stress that children of bodom are not black metal. i'd call them melodic death metal. but we're just splitting hairs.

i like dimmu borgir and thats about as far as i'll go. i just can't take those types of bands seriously. :lol: :lol: they're just so far out there it's beyond 'scary' or 'evil' and just plain silly.

sorry, but i have to disagree with CoB being called "power [dragon] metal."

blind guardian, iced earth or lost horizon are power metal. alexi's singing totally makes it fall in the death metal category. doncha think?

thats why it's melodic death metal. power metal requires power metal vocals and lyrics. CoB lyrics say die or blood every other word. power metal sings about fairies and frodo and dragons and kings. hence they gheyness, agreed. i just think CoB are above power metal and believe melodic death is a better description for them than power/speed.

but :lol: if you think so. maybe the newer stuff? i tend to stick to the first couple records.

I also thought that there's not any quality in black metal and extreme metal generally, until I listened to some bands a bit more and got used to this sound. Now it's one of my favorite music genres.
