Really trying to like the TV show but it's so badly adapted with characters being introduced and then seemingly just as quickly dropping off the face of the Earth.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the rock guy Gabrielle a huge part of the first book and extremely intrinsic to the plot?

As for The Dome it was one episode and done for me but apparently even those people who liked it are calling it shit now.Seemed to me that it was written by King with such a definitive end and trying to stretch beyond those limitations was an act of pure greed destined to fail.

A Clockwork Orange is a dystopian novel by Anthony Burgess published in 1962. Set in a near future English society that has a subculture of extreme youth violence, the novel has a teenage protagonist, Alex, who narrates his violent exploits and his experiences with state authorities intent on reforming him.[1] When the state undertakes to reform Alex—to "redeem" him—the novel asks, "At what cost?". The book is partially written in a Russian-influenced argot called "Nadsat". According to Burgess it was a jeu d'esprit written in just three weeks.[2]
In 2005, A Clockwork Orange was included on Time magazine's list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923,[3] and it was named by Modern Library and its readers as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.[4] The original manuscript of the book is located at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada since that institution purchased the documents in 1971

For fuck's sake. You're retort was to copy/past from Wikipedia without the bother of even editing out the numbered references .OK in that case .....

A Clockwork Orange is a 1971 dystopian crime film written, produced, and directed by Stanley Kubrick, adapted from Anthony Burgess's 1962 novella A Clockwork Orange. It employs disturbing, violent images to comment on psychiatry, juvenile delinquency, youth gangs, and other social, political, and economic subjects in a dystopian near-future Britain.
Alex (Malcolm McDowell), the main character, is a charismatic, sociopathic delinquent whose interests include classical music (especially Beethoven), rape, and what is termed "ultra-violence". He leads a small gang of thugs (Pete, Georgie, and Dim), whom he calls his droogs (from the Russian друг, "friend", "buddy"). The film chronicles the horrific crime spree of his gang, his capture, and attempted rehabilitation via controversial psychological conditioning. Alex narrates most of the film in Nadsat, a fractured adolescent slang composed of Slavic (especially Russian), English, and Cockney rhyming slang.
The soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange features mostly classical music selections and Moog synthesizer compositions by Wendy Carlos (then known as Walter Carlos). The artwork of the now-iconic poster of A Clockwork Orange was created by Philip Castle with the layout by designer Bill Gold.

Current audiobook in car is Goldfinger.... I have the USB loaded with all of `em and just passing the time during long road trips.

I know not the question but best book for me is still EON.... love all Greg Bear books apart from Mars which sucked shite (just unreadable junk). Also Stephen King books clearly better than the tv/film spins off... 'the stand' a particular fav along with 'tommy knockers', 'darkhalf', 'running man' and 'thinner' (don`t think they made a bad film/tv of thinner but certainly did of the 1st 4)

Starting Clive Cussler's newest book. His universe has expanded. He has his normal books with the government agency called NUMA. Then he also his historic fiction line about train robberies, mining strikes, smuggling alcohol during prohibition, and that type of stuff. Moving back to modern times, he is writing his "Trout" series about a husband / wife team of Marine scientists. This is my least favorite. Also he writing a series about a corporation that owns a very fast boat but it is disguised as an old run down boat. These people get paid and sometimes are hired by the CIA. The hero of the series wears a fake leg and stores items inside. I think the name of the hero is Captain Cabrillo.

The latest Cabrillo book is what I am starting to read.

None of Cussler's books are overly complex and they are easy to follow. They are fairly predictable but sometimes that's okay for me.

And when he woke and he was 18 again, with all his memories of the next 25 years intact. He could live his life again, avoiding the mistakes, making money from his knowledge of the future, seeking happiness.
Until he dies at 43 and wakes up back in college. Again.

I'm currently reading both fiction and non-fiction. Well, I have no choice with the non-fiction. I'm applying for a Master's in Communication Studies, and I've been prescribed a list of readings.
Fiction: I just began Nikolai Gogol's "The Squabble (https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/nikolai-gogol/the-squabble/)" yesterday. I skipped the first short story to read "Olde Worlde Landowners" first. I will read the titular third next, and then, finally, the first--"The Carriage." This is my first time reading Gogol, and I must say I really like the experience.
Non-Fiction: In my bid to make a head-start, I've begun going through this list of college-level Marketing (https://www.bartleby.com/subject/business/marketing) titles and references. I reached out to a career counselor, who says everybody is preparing ahead by reading in advance, and I can't believe her. My application, I'm told, must include a list of books I found useful from this list.

I just got my kids into David Eddings...still one of my favorite authors...its fun passing things down to the next generation.

Same here :D
The other books from the series are also highly recommended!
Like "The Restaurant at the End of the" and "Life, the Universe and Everything" and so on :)

B.V. Larson's "Glass World" Undying Mercenaries #13

(A pretty funny science fiction volume... again very well narrated and again... very addicting.) :alien:

Warning! Audio Book, start at #1 or you'll be lost.

after watching the four seasons of the Expanse on Amazon recently, I think I will start with the books soon, after I finished my current book "No one's home".
Now with all the measures in places there will be more time for that I guess

Nick Cole's "The Reservist" (Order of the Centurion - Book 5)

(Fast paced, stand alone, great science fiction... KTF!) :) :alien:

Warning!: I think its audio book only on that series. :(

Dean M. Cole's " Amplitude" [Dimension Space] Volume #3

(Excellent Story and Trilogy! Dual Narration by R.C.Bray and Julia Whelan. :) ) :alien:

Other volumes are #1 "Solitude" . #2 "Multitude"...all great! :)

Hmm...

I have not listened to / or read this BUT...

Star Trek - Picard - The Last Best Hope (Una McCormack) 2020 [M4B]

Just as stated above is out there... I haven't watched the show I just scanned though the audio book for quality and completeness,

but a friend said to listen to it BEFORE I started binging out on it. (Just waiting on season end.)

They said it fleshes out some characters, adds new characters and why...anyways... more back story perhaps. :)

Old folks on here already probably already have it... epub's and mobi's??? I don't do, but there are German languages on Usenet.... you guys use you noggins,

switch shite around the author's name Una McCormack ... titles (most are videos), don't have it yet? "Make it so number one", "Engage!" ...Stay Safe!... cheers, mate :)

Tell me Stehle, does the narrator voice/sound effects change the effect compared to you actually reading the book ??
