Damn .. have to say .. the ways of the orient sure are different from ours.. still reading "Genji Monogatari" of Murasaki Shikibu .. it has 54 books that now are 54 chapters ..
Anyway as i was saying .. Genji sure is different from our Don Juan .. he cares for the woman even when they are old .. other thing is what is enjoyable to them at that time .. the ways of the woman her talent to say poems, play the koto and her hair .. (look at those japs now .... pervs =P ..)
Go for it .. like the nobel Yasunari Kawabata said .. "Genji in particular is the highest pinnacle of Japanese literature. Even down to our day there has not been a piece of fiction to compare with it."

217 Babel Street. http://www.217babel.com/
Awesome. interweb only.
217 Babel Street | Introduction
217 Babel Street is a web of interconnected stories set in a seaside apartment block. There are twenty apartments in the building. Each of the four writers works independently of the others, starting off stories from different rooms. New pages are produced by creating a link from a word or a phrase on a page that already exists. Writers can interrupt and take over each other’s stories, taking them in different directions. Month by month the narrative changes, expanding into new rooms, characters and situations, creating new pathways for readers to explore. The front door (http://217babel.com/main1.html)
FRONT DOOR (http://217babel.com/main1.html) allows access to any of the apartments, where the different stories begin. All characters mentioned in a given episode are listed at the bottom of the page. Clicking on these character links takes the reader to a page describing the character, as well as a list of all the pages in which they appear.

Anyhoo, I been reading essays by the prolific George Orwell; just finished reading - Shooting An Elephant. The opening line is brilliant:

I've been reading a lot of Edgar Allan Poe's anthology right now. Usually come around to it once a year or so, he's one of my favorite authors. Liked him ever since my grandmother read me The Raven, and even she took me to see where he lived because I used to be from the same area. His house and room was very small in case anyone was wondering. Guess he just sat there in an empty room with nothing but a bed and a desk, and wrote gloomy poetry and short stories that people still love today. The man was a wordsmith, no doubt. Loved to flex his enormous vocabulary peen.

If anyone is looking for a good epic fantasy series (game of thrones/lord of the rings style books) then may I suggest the Malazan book of the Fallen series by Stephen Erikson. A very detailed and fleshed out world and best of all it's a completed series so no annoying waits for authors to pull their finger out.

I deliberately stayed away from her book series and went for the one-offs. Black Hills started really slowly, but it's certainly picked up the pace now. I really liked The Witness. I like having physical paperbacks in my hand, but I'm finding myself listening to more and more Audiobooks. I've even started listening to them in the car.

Hi. Im a big fan of the Simon Scarrow series about the Roman Empire. A real good read even if you dont like history type books. I also like Chris Carter who is a great detective novel writer. He only has a few books under his belt but they are books which are hard to put down.

I am reading A Distant Mirror by Barbara W. Tuchman. It is a historical account of the 14th century written as a narrative about a specific French Knight. She wanted to write about someone who there was enough known about that she could create a reasonable biography but not so privileged (like a royal) that their life would be so extraordinary there would be no insight into the common person.
