Alternative energy (mostly wind, some solar) produced a greater percentage of the total energy output in the ERCOT market than coal in 2019, and twice as much as nuclear. In 2020 there were days where wind made up more than 30% of the total energy mix. Yes, only half of what gas contributes, but wait another 10 years and we'll take another look. In 2018 carbon-free energy sources already made up 30% of the total.

Say what you want about Rick Perry (and I have a lot to say about the man, and not just about his dancing skills), but at least he was energy agnostic and the only color he cared about was green. He is the one who encouraged the development of wind farms (hey, fun fact: one of the the largest early investors to develop that industry: BP, an oil and gas company!), and at least he had some kind of vision of the future -- or at a minimum did not stand in its way. Unlike your buddy Donald and his friends in West Virginia who are still working on the great coal comeback. Want to compare coal mining jobs with those created in alternative energy? Or for that matter how many oil and gas were lost since 2015 and how many were created in alternative energy fields? It's not like anyone couldn't see it coming; I know I got the hell out of Dodge after 20 years in O&G when the market melted down in 2014/2015.

Was not money given by Obama, but access to funding provided by the Department of Energy under their Title XVII federal loan guarantee program (potaeto - potahto; yes, at the end the tax payer got stuck holding the bag even if the money initially came from banks). Coincidentally, you know where Tesla got a whole lot of money from when they started out? Precisely. What ever happened to that?

And I can tell you that the program rules and requirements were tightened significantly after that fiasco. I happen to know that because I spent two years of my life trying to get a couple bucks out of that program myself afterwards (not for me, for my employer at the time). So yeah, for once the feds learned something. The program is still around, by the way. And was initially started/funded by the Energy Act of 2008. Now let me think, who was in charge back in 2008 and who would have drafted the initial rules?

First off , even with a 3500 sq foot house roof, how they have to situate the panels to work if the power goes out, it will power your fridge for about 3-5 hours, but if you use multiple things in your house at once you get less than 2 LOL!!!!

You catch my drift on how much real estate you need to have sustainable power LOL!!!!.. And how much is real estate worth and how much can be wasted with population growth?? Again just some questions that may need to be answered before this ideas can be used exclusively ??

Things with the mother got out of hand but instead of doing anything about that they pepper sprayed the daughter. She had already been handcuffed and was too frightened to get in the police car and was crying out for her father. In police jargon that's known as being a clear and immediate threat.

Across our Zoom screen, they affirmed, with nods, thumbs-ups, and emojis of anger and frustration. Fast-forward two weeks as we analyzed images from the inauguration, asking again, “What do we see?” We saw diversity, creativity and humanity, and a nation embracing all of this and more. On the day of the inauguration, Bernie Sanders was barely on our radar. The next day, he was everywhere.


“What do we see?” I asked again. We’ve been studying diversity and discrimination in the United States; my students were ready. What did they see? They saw a white man in a puffy jacket and huge mittens, distant not only in his social distancing, but in his demeanor and attire.


We took in the meaning of the day, the vulnerability of democracy, the power of ritual, traditions and the peaceful transition of power.


We talked about gender and the possible meanings of the attire chosen by Vice President Kamala Harris, Dr. Jill Biden, the Biden grandchildren, Michelle Obama, Amanda Gorman and others. We referenced the female warriors inspiring these women, the colors of their educational degrees and their monochromatic ensembles of pure power.


And there, across all of our news and social media feeds, was Bernie: Bernie memes, Bernie sweatshirts, endless love for Bernie. I puzzled and fumed as an individual as I strove to be my best possible teacher. What did I see? What did I think my students should see? A wealthy, incredibly well-educated and -privileged white man, showing up for perhaps the most important ritual of the decade, in a puffy jacket and huge mittens.


I mean in no way to overstate the parallels. Sen. Sanders is no white supremacist insurrectionist. But he manifests privilege, white privilege, male privilege and class privilege, in ways that my students could see and feel.


“When you see privilege, you know it,” I’d told them weeks before. Yet, when they saw Sen. Bernie Sanders manifesting privilege, when seemingly no one else did, I struggled to explain that disparity. I am beyond puzzled as to why so many are loving the images of Bernie and his gloves. Sweet, yes, the gloves, knit by an educator. So “Bernie.”


Not so sweet? The blindness I see, of so many (Bernie included), to the privileges Bernie represents. I don’t know many poor, or working class, or female, or struggling-to-be-taken-seriously folk who would show up at the inauguration of our 46th president dressed like Bernie. Unless those same folk had privilege. Which they don’t.

Holy shit watched some video , and it looked like there was a ton of cops around the car?? And the kid was a pretty big 9 year old. I am wondering if they actually asked how old she really was??

My mother used to work for Family Benefits Idol, and just to let you know the social workers interviewed people , the people were put into a small box room with thick plexiglass, and my mother told me stories that they would kick, punch and spit on the glass and other things in the room if they didn't like the social workers questions/answers , that were obviously for security reasons, protected outside that room talking through the glass....

So every time i hear this crap that removing police and putting in social workers in there place to prevent violence is a joke.

Now his twin sister Missy, likes dolls and makeup, but also has an athletic gene and great coordination, and plays on the boys baseball team. Now saying that, she doesn't want to change here gender!!!, she likes boys!!!!.....

The same recently on college football is there not a female place-kicker that plays for the boys team.. Was there ever a report that she wanted to become a Man and that is what gave her the urge to play football??

I know there are many examples of this, but now we have to deal with Men that want to be women and now want to dominated women's sports!!!!

I know change is good, and advancements to bettering peoples lives is good, i know choice is good, but if i had a daughter that was competing to make a team and a boy that wants to be a girl competes in the same sport for the spot , and wins it hands down, because he actually could compete with the boys but may just fall short??

As a parent and of course you are going to be disappointment she may not make the team, really how do you explain it if she doesn't??

And really should the coach care about my daughter not making the team or just winning?? Or fear of losing His/Her job??

From what I understand, domestic abuse calls are second to only drug raids in terms of risk to police. Tempers are high and you have no way of knowing how bad the situation is that you're going to be walking into.
Clearly best of all worlds the nine year old situation should have been best handled by social services but given the potential for real violence I can't say that I blame anyone for sending the cops.

If you are born man, even if you undergo the medical procedures to transition to a woman, you are always going to retain some of the physical advantages of a male, like greater bone density and how your bones are structured to produce more strength and power . Some argue that being transgender is just sort of similar to that. Just taking advantage a la LeBron James of the physical advantages you were born with. My opinion for the zero that it's worth is that there should be two distinct categories in athletes, based entirely on genetics, not gender and those would obviously be male and female. If someone feels the need to then create separate categories for trans men and trans woman then I guess I have nothing against them doing that.
People argue that in sports the playing field is never going to be equal because even among cis genders some people are just born to be better athletes but at least that was God's doing and not Man's.

I watched, so I should know precisely what Maddow said and it was something along the lines of Fox cut their coverage of the trial an hour before the break and therefore an hour before any other network. Hardly "Fox News hasn't been covering the trial".
As for that has transpired in said trial. Simple case of cause and effect. Near impossible to refute if one is being impartial.
Obviously the defense only play is to try and show that Trump's words didn't rise to the level of incitement but with all the taped evidence showing otherwise they really can't, not that it will make any difference.

He (Trump) directly told then to go to the Capital. He told then to "fight." The protesters/mob/rioters/whatever you want to call them had no legal recourse left against what they felt as a "stolen" election. What else could anyone think was going to happen? That an inflamed and partly armed mob was going to go to the Capital and have a civil discourse or sit placidly on their hands or something.

Like I said earlier, cause and effect. If Trump and his minions hadn't diligently played up the lie about election rigging or hadn't orchestrated the march to/against the Capital or lots of other things then I could agree there was no incitement.
