Btw why not get this one from Antec. Much more stable PSU. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....y=BROWSE&depa=1 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-129-120&catalog=7&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1)

Model "ATXA7AW/420" -RETAIL ...that is the model number and it has ATX in it..which might mean it supports ATX..I think it does
I think the power supply on the other one should be ok...I have an $80 dollar Ultra 500watt PSU, which came with my chieftec dragon for FREE. It has worked great for me..

Here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-125-268&depa=0)
This is the case I have, except mine didnt come with that PSU (I bought mine from tiger direct) and mine is silver, and doesnt have Front USB/Firewire.
It is the exact same design though...if you bought that case I could PROMISE you would love it...as I am in love with mine.

so will that power supply run all the fans and my mobo? i have an ASUS P4C800-E deluxe mobo @3.3ghz, 3 hard drives, 1 cd writer, Radeon 9500 pro (which is powered by the PSU) and a case fan, which that case seems to come with 3 or so. do you think that PSU can run all of that?

hey bigdawg, is that PSU any good that comes with that cheiftain case? i dont know a good PSU from a junk one. i know watt rating dont seem to mean shit when it comes to quality. oh , and thanks to everyone for the help :flowers: edit - i have a HEC 300w/185 continuous PSU now. also, does that case come with fans?

I dont believe it does. I like to buy my own neway to make sure the sound rating isnt too loud.
I dont know if the other power supply is good or not, sorry.

Things I considered when buying my new case. Cost to have PSU & case fans I needed. Some cases come without PSU or sh*tty PSU's. Also a lot of cases come without sufficient case fans. So don't go cheap on PSU or case fan brands.

I would go to tigerdirect.com
I would buy a chieftec glossy dragon series, that comes with a free 500watt PSU.
That would cost you about $100 Here (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=113076&Sku=DRG-GR-ULTRA)
Buy 5, 80mm Coolermaster blue fans, as it is the same price as 4.
That would cost you $30 Here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-999-051&depa=0)
$130 for a good 500Watt psu, 5 awesome QUIET fans, and a sweet looking glossy red case is a pretty good deal..

I'll bet Bigdawg is going to recommend Tigerdirect.
Maybe even twice.

I was going to remove the first of the double post but then clocker's post wouldn't make sense.
Maybe bigdawg could suggest tigerdirect.

The PSU they have from Tigerdirect is very nice, as I have it and love it.
The case is also very nice.
You can get the chieftec dragon from newegg, but there is a better selection at tiger direct. Just w/e you want!
Im just recommending a dragon series...cuz i like mine alot.

the tigerdirect looks like a sweet deal with psu included
zapjb

Imo the Antec PSU is much more stable.
bigdawgfoxx
03-01-2004, 11:36 PM
Why do you say that? What makes one psu more stable then another...mine has NEVER crashed..and i can change voltages fine, with NO problem. Also it looks awesome. If you buy the psu alone, it cost $80, so its not a horrible POS PSU lol
The tiger direct dragon series (glossy are realllly nice) with a 500watt ultra psu is a great deal imo

I'd recommend Tigerdirect.
Those temps seem high to me.

Above is a good article on PSU's. Never heard of this brand PSU Ultra.
Imho a name brand PSU is vital. But each to their own.

Well each Ultra PSU goes through alot of testing and mine has worked GREAT for me..and it cost $80, so its not like its a cheap piece of shit...mine works great..so does my friends...so I would recommend it.
