Upgrading Bt

i want to upgrade from 500k - 1mb
any one know what number i have to call?

the net i have now is BT yahoo broadband
i have been looking around there site i cant find any thing :(

i just called up bt and said that i would like to upgrade from half a mb to 1mb and they said sure should we do this now or do u want to think about it and so on.

Done this the online way, got account number from bill and im dont. 11th may my connection upgrades. How will this work though?, we'll suddenly notice a shoot up in speed, or will we have to restart, enable something etc?

Cheers ck, to be honest I dont mind if theres hours downtime on that day, knowing when its back up the speed has doubled, I'll be happy. :D

One thing though, I never ordered any filters, modems etc .. so will I still be delivered any kind of welcome pack? ... this needs to stay confidential with me only. A big no-no for parents otherwise a big trouble-trouble for me, lol.

when I had 1 1.5mbps connection, my dad calle rogers without me knowing and asked for teh cheapre 192k conection, cause he's cheap. one day I was just downloading some stuff then I noticed all my downloads suddenly went way down to like 20kb/s from around 120kb/s :angry: so it happens instantly, atleast with cable internet...

if your with ntl, they r gonna increase the 600k and 150k connection by 50% for free in a few weeks time and the 1mb service will increase by 50% aswell but for an extra £3. i am currently on the 1mb service but am gonna move back to the 600k just before it moves up as 1mb is more than enough for me.

Had mailed them about 2 days ago .... no answer.
Called them this morning .................. Useless.

Said that the order of my upgrade had "not closed yet" so I have to wait, and no tests or anything can be performed on my line till the order "closes" ... so what do I have to do?

:) i uploaded at 36kbs but then it went down to 30kbs
and downloading was just the same :unsure:
has it eaven done any thing apart from say "connected at 1.1mbps"

the upload speed wont change .. 30kb will be around the max .. suprised to see the download speed is same, maybe it takes a while to kick in .. showing it as 1mb for now to keep us on the edge of our seats. :unsure:

u could try changing to ntl if they do a better line for ur house
unless u still got the 1year thing with bt :frusty:
