There is no meaning of life.

If you keep your outlook simple, Snny, you have more time to think about paying the bills.

What have matter and energy ever done for us?

This thread has come over all Monty Python.

Only if you are the one doing the pooing.

It takes a lot of energy to clean up all that matter.

Aha, yet another service performed by energy then.

Admittedly, matters are looking a bit dodgy at the moment.

Well, perhaps the, um....substance could be used as some sort of fuel.

For a left-turn-only vehicle of some sort?

We could use it to shuttle people in and out of this thread, for example. :)

Ah SAAB.

I remember warm midsummer days, where every car by the roadside was a SAAB.

Bonnets open and steam slowly drifting over the road, a car to sit down in and really reflect.

Mainly on the odd choices regarding the radiator designs of Svenska Aero Aktie Bolaget.

This was of course years ago, and I doubt they could still be making the same mistake.

Probably inventing new ones as we post.

I just really like the design of the old ones. 1100's I think they were. They were automatics and looked like something a James Bond baddie would drive.

Reality is purely subjective.

It's one of those intangibles. Like love or the mole on my back.

4 men are in a boat. Its sinking. There are only 3 life jackets, one of which has a hole, another a rip, and another a tear. The only materials they have are one cork and a pair of scissors. All 4 men survive. How did they do it?

One of them gouges out the other twos' eyes with the scissors and floats home on their bloated corpses. Though all four don't survive in that scenario.

I hadn't planned to stick around
This plethora of plebs I'd found.
Here was something unprofound.
My English teacher would have frowned.

You'd need galoshes for the geeks
Thought I, this place is crammed with cliques.
Who writhed in tongues of pings and tweaks.
A noob was half afraid to speak.

I settled in. I dug in deep.
I got in line behind the sheep.
Something told me that I'd reap
Something gainful on the cheap.

And then, such wonders to behold.
When once within this school enrolled.
The pupils needing telling, told.
The arseholes needing rolling, rolled.

Gods and monsters here at play.
A vivid, vulgar thorned bouquet.
My preconcepts in disarray.
I wandered, whistling through the fray.

Kings dethroned and jesters crowned.
Those who wouldn't swim just drowned
Or sunk straight into solid ground,
Their footing being less than sound.

It never was my hope to strive
Amid so many seething lives.
And yet, somehow, I seem to thrive.
Grateful to have still survived.

It's not a jail. There are no bars.
The wounds we take will not bear scars.
I've brought along some nice cigars.
So check out my new fucking stars.

Actually, BD, I do.

But that's because I made such a big deal out of it. Its quite sad really. Not anticlimactic but a feeling of being in the eye of the storm.

Not sad at all.
I thought this was a pretty cool way of getting your 5th star.

I was kinda proud of taking forever to do it...You know what I mean?
You should be too...If that makes any sense

I was off pursuing a bit of education.

Didn't actually learn anything, though.

Funny, I'm pursuing some education at the minute. I'm off to pick up my son from school. His teacher looks right smart.

Catch you this after.

Well, now.

It's done, and done with class. ;)

Communism never worked quite so well. :P

Congratulations, Chalice!

Wish I had gotten here sooner, but yesterday's effort plain tuckered me out, and I just now roused myself.

Actually, I've been up few a few minutes; started reading the thread, and every time I got to the bottom of the page, there's another to read-amazing!

We have no more deserving member than you. Chalice. :)

Sorry, only pure self-pity. I could make it rhyme if you'd prefer. Wouldn't do much for the content, though.

And I just don't have the resolve to go through this star-chasing caper again.

I, ambitiously started this thread 2 years ago, consumed as I was, with the aim to acheiving 1000 posts and so 5-starred ecstacy.

Needlees to say, the ecstacy was somewhat less than 5-stardom and to make matters worse, my hard earned gas balls were soon diminished to a paltry 4-star affair, barely representative of any kind of thermodynamic significance in this huge universe of a forum of ours.

You can appreciate my destress.
My loss is nuclear.
