Just finished watching the Eko episode and I must say it was one (if not the) of my favorite episodes and he is definitely my favorite character.

If you saved, episode "The 23rd Psalm" I found something interesting.
Replay where Eko meets the black cloud and play it really slow, especially where there is a close up and he is looking right into the cloud and the camera goes around the cloud. You'll see something.
You will see images (like negatives) of Eko life
What do you guys think the black cloud is?

from ecoo's past. I had to play in very slow motion to see them and even then it was hard to pick them out. very very interesting!!

All the stuff on the recap was old. Michael talking to Walt on the computer was on the last episode before the break. The different angles of the crash is on the DVD of season 1.

Can you explain exactly when this happened so I can watch that part of the episode again to see what you mean? I've spoilered a transcript of the monster part of that episode below if that helps:

(Jack and Kate both reach the bottom of the hillside. Jack looks around. They
hear a scuttling, rattling noise getting louder. Jack turns and through the
greenery, he sees a wisp of black smoke zoom quickly across the clearing and
quickly vanishing into the trees on the right.)

(The scuttling, rattling noise disappears as well. Jack turns and looks at the
clearing. Did she see it? He turns and looks questioningly at Kate.)

KATE: Yeah, I saw it.

(Behind them, Locke and Hurley have both reached the bottom.)

KATE: We got to get out of here.

(Kate and Jack both quickly turn and hurry. Hurley jumps down onto the path and
quickly follows them.)

(Next, we hear the familiar fluttering of wings and screeching sounds that often
precede the creature.)

(Jack and Kate both stop and turn to look back.)

(And then ... silence.)

(beat)

(Suddenly out of nowhere, the trees directly in front of Locke are uprooted as
if something forceful rams into it - the tree trunks go flying upon impact.)

(The creature roars.)

(Not waiting to find out what it is, Kate and Hurley turn and run.)

(Jack carefully removes his backpack, his eyes on the 'invisible' thing
uprooting the trees upon impact - a blur of black, tree, motion and dirt. Jack
puts his backpack down and quickly follows Kate and Hurley.)



(Locke remains where he is, his eyes wide and on the thing in front of him.)

(We hear the familiar creature sounds.)

(Locke removes his backpack.)

(The creature growls.)

(We hear the creature take a step forward. Locke puts his backpack down on the
ground and heads toward the creature. We hear low rumbling and the other sounds
usually associated with the island monster.)



(Kate, Hurley and Jack are running away from the creature.)

(Jack stops and turns around to check on Locke. We hear the creature stomping
sounds. Jack sees Locke walking toward the creature.)

JACK: (shouts) Locke, what are you doing?!

(The creature sounds continue. Jack hesitates; his instinct is to run. He
looks back at Kate and Hurley. Instead, he runs after Locke.)

(The creature sounds continue - stomping, growling, low-rumbling.)

(Locke peers out from behind one of the trees.)

(We hear the creature screeching and thumping. The low-rumbling sound and
stomping continues.)

and roars. Locke looks directly at the creature, perhaps hoping to see the same
thing he saw before.)

(The creature's roar echoes.)

[EXT. THE DARK TERRITORY - JUNGLE -- DAY]

(CU: LOCKE)

(Locke looks terrified. The creature roars. Locke turns and rolls out of the

Locke glances back at it over his shoulder.)

(Locke runs into the clearing.)

(Jack sees Locke and heads over to him. The creature growls.)

JACK: Locke!

(Jack looks for Locke.)

[KATE AND HURLEY]

(Meanwhile, Kate and Hurley are running away from the creature. Kate stops and
looks back, expecting to see Jack, but finds that he's not there.)

(Locke runs frantically away from the creature. We hear the sounds of gears

ground, grunting on impact.)

LOCKE: Aah!

(The creature drags Locke through the dirt path. Jack runs back to Locke. He
stops and sees Locke being dragged backward by something wrapped long, thin and
black - a blur that moves quickly as it pulls Locke toward it.)

JACK: Locke!

(The gears continue to click. Jack runs after Locke, who is helpless as he's
being dragged backward through the dirt path by some unseen force.)

LOCKE: Aah! Ah!

(The gear-clicking sounds get louder and louder. Jack runs as fast as he can to
catch up with Locke. He jumps and dives at Locke - the thing is now pulling
both Jack and Locke down the path, its strength unhindered by the weight of both

into the hole. Jack braces his legs on both sides of the hole, his double-armed
grip on Locke secure.)

Locke's head above the ground.)

Most theories I've read elsewhere seem to think it is a fear or faith thing so it would be interesting to see if you have any explicit proof that it is in fact something as mundane as movement that attracts the creature.

Most theories I've read elsewhere seem to think it is a fear or faith thing so it would be interesting to see if you have any explicit proof that it is in fact something as mundane as movement that attracts the creature. Man, you went searchin' for a transcript? :dabs:

(Arzt continues to run. Kate follows him. Jack is not far behind. Echoes of

(Danielle puts her gear back on.)

Personally, I think the jury is still out on this one. I think we'll need a few more encounters with the "security system" until we know what attracts/motivates it for sure. The movement thing just makes me think of Jurrassic Park :dabs:

That minutes b4 the numbers are entered the smoke is free to roam the island and perhaps read the minds of the ppl to find out what makes them venerable, so later it can use thier fears against them. It showed all the ppl that died in Eko's life.
Also I think the 3rd hatch is in the ocean, like the cable synaid found lead to the jungle and to the ocean. That would expalin why walt is always wet when we see him. Plus you noticed the tailies found the other hatch, but it was nothing like the ones in the front found. Perhaps that wasnt a hatch, but an entrance to the hatch in the ocean.

What do you think would of happened if Locke wouldn't of entered the numbers? It looked like missiles would be released. I think Sayhid was right and that guy was one of the others, cause of the way the guy tried to switch the interrogation to Sayhid when Sayhid got upset about Shannons death. Plus the Rousou (sp)has been living on the Island for 16 years she would know who to trust and who not too trust.
I'm starting to think that Darhma was one of those cold war testing silos and they put ppl there to see if they could live in the silos and then forgot about them, what do you think?

Why:
It is protected by a thick concrete barrier.
There are blast doors to protect the crew.
There are weapons for site protection.
The computers banks are used as telemetry controls.
The satellite (108 minutes) is a launch window. Plus did you know that 4+8+15+16+23+42=108?
The sound of blast doors opening when the countdown was reached. (Locke shut it down before the main ignition)

The symbols -- bird (represents a flying projectile); fire (represents launch); arrow (represents a nuclear missile).

The "incident" most likely involves the launching of an earlier missile from the silo that we saw being used by the "tailies" and is now abandoned.

It seems that with every other flashback, we get to see how the survivor's lives were interweaved before they crash-landed on the island. The two mentioned above from the last coupla episodes, Swayer and Jack's Dad, Jack and Boone & Shannon's (step)Dad, Eko's brother, Jack and the Scottish hatch guy, Hurley appearing on Korean TV - and loads more that I can't remember atm.

I don't think even the writers have decided upon the significance yet :dabs:

I'm watching Lost right now and
Claire's flashback show Ethan with a Dharma/Feng Shui symbol (has a vertical red medical symbol and horizontal black Dharma in the middle) on his keychain when opening the freezer with the medicine.

Also the medicine says CR 4-81516-23 42 and has the same symbol on it. (all the medicine did).

The Others are part of the Dharma Experiment?

Weird that Ethan is talking to her like hadn't left on the flight yet.

I noticed that the Dharma symbol on Ethan's canteen bag was slightly different.

"Zeke" referred to another higher person that wouldn't be happy and he had no beard.

The Others wore costumes throughout the series so far.

Her acting was fine to me. Her actions were not, however, so I agree with the spoiler above.

She was irritating as hell. Everytime she said, "My baby" I wanted to punch her.

I hope they kill her off this season, her and Kate. Kate looks like a 12 year old girl.

The preview for next week's episode, Lockdown....
shows the hatch closing up. Locke has to enlist the help of Henry Gale. It also says that 5 things are gonna happen in that episode. It looks like Sayid, Charlie, and Kate find Henry Gale's big ass balloon but it's up in a tree.

I think Henry Gale is the leader of the others. I think he is the one Zeke referred to at the Dharma facility where Claire was. I think he is great manipulator.

Also, anyone notice that Anna has guilt about the fella that she threw in the pit (Another 48 Days) 'cause he ended up dead. She never knew that he was an Other and was killed by "another Other". Her misplaced guilt will probably hurt the team.

Ok does anyone else think that Michael lost it? or that he working for the others? I think he killed the two women to let Henry go so he can get walt back...then shots himself to get off the hook, some deal he made with the others.
I also think that Jacks dad isnt dead and is working for the others.
There are theories out now that Clair is Jacks sister. Because they said that who jacks dad meet
I knew that AL was going to get offed cause of her dui and going to jail and libby got a dui the week after. But maybe Libby will live cause Hurley didnt seem all that upset in next week preview and damnit Eko better not get killed off.

Ok does anyone else think that Michael lost it? or that he working for the others? I think he killed the two women to let Henry go so he can get walt back...then shots himself to get off the hook, some deal he made with the others.
I also think that Jacks dad isnt dead and is working for the others.

A great episode, ending was a bit boring. Yet more questions left untouched. The only thing thats keeping my hyped up about the final few episodes is that the producers have said they will answer a few major questions like what caused the plane crash and such.


I fail to see the importance of putting Libby in Hurly's flashback (When she's sitting there, fixated on him) because now that she is dead, we will not have any flashbacks of her doing anything to him and Hurly would remember if she had stalked him. It just seems that the producers wanted to add an 'extra shock' to the episode.

Anyone notice that Henry Gale alluded to the fact that the Others think Anna Lucia killed 2 of them. It was only 1.

Last night was yet another good episode.:D
I was getting upset that the losties couldn't see through Michael...it was so obvious he was working with the others it made you want to scream lol. I'm glad when Sayid saw through his line of BS and it will be interesting to see what he does about it.
Jack is really starting to get on my nerves with his "I am king of the island you'll obey me" attitude In fact there all kind of bossy and pushy with each other. In next weeks I think the person on the boat will be Desmond coming from the third hatchin the ocean.;)
My new theory is that:
The others are scientist and they have develop a hullucination drug they are realising in mass quantities in the air and water to see the effect on the subjects. Probably for the military for war purposes.
That's why Kate saw the horse, they saw the polar bear and other weird stuff. That the shots they are suppose to inject is a serum to keep the test drugs from effecting the scientist and officials.
That the losties are new test subject.:D

I thought it was a very good episode can’t wait until the new season starts.It looked like at the very end Desmond's girlfriend was looking for him and apparently they found something. Did you also notice that this was the first time the writers showed anything going on in the “present” that was not on the island? Everything else has been from the castaways past. This puts the theory of the world being destroyed to an end, there is still life outside the island and from the sounds of it there is only one way off.
