• NOD32 and Kaspersky Websites Hacked

Again we are presented with a situation that shows how even companies that should keep us protected are vulnerable to the attacks launched by cybercriminals. This time, NOD32ís website in Ukraine and Kasperskyís Costa Rican site were defaced.

Kaspersky was hacked by Algerian hackers Over-X, indoushka and Saousha and according to Cyberwarnews, this is not the first time they fail to properly secure their site. The attackers donít state their reasons for taking down the page, but itís most likely one of the situations where they want to show how weak its security is.

At the time of writing, Kasperskyís website (kaspersky.co.cr) is still down, proudly displaying the image placed by the hackers.

On the other hand, NOD32 in Ukraine (nod32.in.ua) acted quickly on restoring their services after being attacked by hackers known as KhantastiC haX0r and Shadow008.

ďHellO NoD32. Where is Security ?! Are U Hacked ? Yesh ! U have been Hacked Once Again !!! Everyday Someone Get Hacked Today is your Day. Impossible only means it has not been done...Ē state the hackers on the defaced page.

The ones responsible for taking down the NOD32 site kept themselves busy over the past few days, making a lot of victims, mostly from India and Bangladesh.

The Zone-H mirrors of their hacks reveal that most of the sites were hosted on government domains, which seem to be the favorite targets of this duo.

A few months back we saw Pandaís website in Pakistan being injected with some arbitrary code, and two days ago we saw how Team Elite proved an attack on the Polish website of ArcaBit, the developers of ArcaVit antivirus.

You can probably imagine that for hackers itís a great accomplishment to breach the websites of those who are actually in the security business and unfortunately, in some cases it takes more than one cybercriminal operation to get them to patch up all the holes.

On the other hand I'm going to go with they are a bunch of immature douches looking for a little ego inflating. Also Avira bitches.

this has quickly evolved from "making a stand/statement" to becoming a game ... soon this will evolve into societies perception of terrorism and between homework and dinner time - every knuckleheaded kid will want to become the Osama bin laden of cyber terrorism ... the governments will try to make programs, computers and devices smarter to combat this - eventually Microsoft and/or Apple will evolve into a real life Skynet type of corporation - which pride itself on defending us from cyber terrorism ... eventually, just before his mom calls him down for dinner, a 14 y/o will finish a script he wrote, hack Applesoft and every machine, PC, and app driven device will view humans as a threat ... the war will begin and every man named John Connor (except for 1) will be assassinated by one machine ...

Well what hackers did may seem egoist actions to one but it raises a significant questions about the efficiency of people who are in business of securing us on internet. No matter how hard they try there will be vulnerable security hole left to be explored and
      exploited by hackers.

On the other hand I feel these security companies should employ hackers with handsome packages.

Avira Antivirus (formerly Avira Antivir), I'm a user of that myself.

I know about Avira and I'm also an Avira user. I already used NOD32 and Kaspersky but I switch back to Avira due certain issues.

Why he called Avira as "Avira bitches"? What have Avira got to do with this?
