It seems Google is making good on the promise it made last month to “better address” what it calls the “bad apples who use the Internet to infringe copyright.”
The search engine giant’s four part plan for “Making Copyright Work Better Online” included a pledge to “prevent terms that are closely associated with piracy from appearing in Autocomplete,” and now it has done just that.

Specifically, What.CD has come a long way since its birth back in 2007, growing from 30,000 torrents as of November 14th, 2007 to over 1 million today.

The MPAA and their colleagues in The Netherlands appear to have shut down more than two dozen BitTorrent, Usenet and other file-sharing sites today. Accused of linking to movies, music, TV shows and games, at least one domain appears to be redirecting to the website of Dutch anti-piracy outfit, BREIN.
