Less than a month after its launch, Zynga's CityVille has become the world's most popular game. According to AppData, CityVille just reached 61.7 million monthly active users, and with that, the game nabs the number one spot from Zynga's other social gaming phenom, FarmVille.
This gives Zynga a total of 261 million monthly active users - clearly nothing to scoff at. However, despite dominating social gaming this year, the challenge for Zynga has been to continue to build on the massive success of Farmville and to show that the game wasn't simply a one-hit wonder.

File-sharing sites like Megaupload and RapidShare could find themselves cut off from MasterCard payments due to their users' propensity to use them for file-sharing. Though these sites have many legitimate users, as they provide a convenient way of transferring files too large to be conveniently sent by e-mail, they are also commonly used to distribute music, videos, and games without the permission of the rightsholders.

YouTube has announced that its users have uploaded more than 13 million hours of video content to its servers in the last 12 months, resulting in more than 700 billion YouTube video views.

If you do the math, it means that YouTube’s users have uploaded 850,000 minutes of video and watched 1.9 billion videos per day in the past year. In March, the Google-owned video site announced that its users were uploading more than 24 hours of video per minute. In May, YouTube revealed that it had surpassed 2 billion video views per day.

There’s been a major development in Spain recently. The Ley de Economia Sostenible (Sustainable Economy Act) in Spain now no longer has the highly controversial provision of mandating ISPs to block websites suspected of facilitating copyright infringing activities. While the war is not over yet over the so-called “Sinde Act”, it seems to be a victory for civil rights groups.

Major File-Sharing Sites Go Dark To Protest Anti-Download Law

In recent times, Spanish courts have ruled repeatedly that subject to some fairly minor conditions, operating a file-sharing site falls within the boundaries of the law.

However, as shown by diplomatic cables recently leaked by Wikileaks, under pressure from the United States, the Spanish Government proposed new legislation to close loopholes and provide sweeping new anti-filesharing powers.

Del.icio.us has lived a long life -- having been around since 2003 -- but Yahoo! has confirmed the demise of the delectable bookmark service. It comes as no surprise after news of the company's recent layoff blitz, and the Delicious team has been on the list of expected victims for well over a year. It's not the only property getting the "sunset" treatment from Yahoo!, either; Yahoo! Picks, Yahoo! Bookmarks, Alltheweb, Altavista, and MyBlogLog are all going the way of the dinosaur along with it.
