I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
My friend had a friend set up a forum for our clan and I need to know how to access where our phpbb root path is. We obviously have a phpbb forum. :P I wanted to change the banner of the forum and to implement pictures in for the ranks of each member for the number of posts they achieve. I already set up the ranks and the number of posts u need to reach them in, I just need to figure out how to implement the pictures in. Can u guys help me out? :frusty: If it helps, cjb.net hosts our site and our forum.

You need FTP access to upload the images.
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
Damn cjb... Do u know of any good free hosting that supports FTP??
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
most free hosts don't provide ftp
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
Most dont but some do? Do u know which ones do?
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
Even if I can't implement the pictures (which I would really like to do), would I need FTP for editing the default forum banner??
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
okay then fine, I'll just say "no", because none that i know of do.

Alright sooo ne one know about editing the default forum banner? Hmm actually I have a comcast.net account. Do they support ftp?
Edit: OMG they do!! :) The url sucks ass tho. :frusty:
Re: I need to figure out the phpbb root path of my forum...
find a domain name that you like, that's cheap to register, and point it to your comcast one.
anyway, when you do it, you should make your new banner image, and overwrite the
/phpBB root dir/templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB.gif
if the dimensions are different, you'll also need to edit the <img> tag in overall_header.tpl...if you're using subSilver
