Help installing new video card
I just purchased a new ati radeon aiw 9800 pro, i uninstalled the drivers to my old card and turned off the computer. after doing this, i rebooted and it comes to my logon scrren but only show the xpize background/wallpaper. there's no window in the middle with the user accounts. :frusty: Just the background. I tried booting in safe mode. I need help because I'm desperate to want to try out my new card!!!!!!
Re: Help installing new video card
for those who dont know, XPIZE is a theme pack which changes icons, log on screen and etc.
Hopefully there is a way to fix it without formatting
Re: Help installing new video card
Presumably you have plugged in the required molex connector on the card?
Re: Help installing new video card
im 100% sure ive installed the card correctly. i took out my 7500 and put in the new one, and i properly fixed the power supply too. when the computer's running, the fan on the video card is workng
Re: Help installing new video card
OK then.
Replace the old card and see if you can enter Windows with it again.
Even with no brand specific drivers installed Windows should use it's legacy drivers to open and allow you to work.
Is the 9800 a new card?
Edit:
NM, it looks like it is a new card....
Re: Help installing new video card

Re: Help installing new video card
i installed my old card. then i uninstalled xpize theme. i reinstalled my new card an now im in :D . I just want to know if i should install the drivers from disc, or download them?
Re: Help installing new video card
It's probable that the ATI website has newer drivers than those on your disk.
