"nVidia" creators of 3D grafik cards announced that "HL2" will work only on nVidia VGA's and thats on signed contract with "VALVE".during games installition stup will cheak if the user got nVidia 3D card or not and it will not accept other VGa or fake nVidia 3D cards and setup will be canceled .

and dont worry they will include Ge-Force2 with the game in case of plane failure and the VGa which is include with game package will be at very low cost.

i ran the Doom 3 Alpha Demo on my old FX5200 and got between 7 to 25 FPS which isn't bad for that card.but either way bawa just copies and paste fake news on this board and he is very annoying since he doesn't do bac research to make sure the news he post is tru i wish he'd just get banned for being so moronic HL2 will work on all cards just as long as its DX6 compliant and above. i have a FX 5900 so im not worrying.

for one, any card greater then a tnt2 will run this game, with minmal feature loss. Any high end card, from nvidia, and ati will run it totally fine.

and for two, copies of half life 2 will actually be packaged with some of ATI's radeon 9900's. So if any one is in cohorts, its ati and valve.

Well I know that Devlin and Martin NL are working on a mod for half-life 2. Its going to be there own little counter-strike mod. There looking to do stuff like, when you pick a certain skin for CT or T, you get certain weapons. Its an Ultimate realism mod and you should check the progress and read some information about it. Unless you're referring to someone elses post, i personally said that they recommended ati cards. They didn't actual make it optimized for radeons, but they made it with it in mind. Check a few interviews.

Actually I've just depressed myself. I used to have a Voodoo 2 when they were the mutts! I remember the first Unreal coming out and I'd run it in 3DFX and I thought graphics couldn't get much better. I paid £200 for it and now it's lying in a box of bits under my bed. Life is cruel :'(.

there haven't been any card-specific games since the 3dfx days when some of them were GLide-only. and even then, most of those had software rendering. unless you count Metal Gear Solid 2, which only ran on Nvidia until they patched it for ATI support.

can someone please remember to bump this thread after HL2 comes out and does include support for both Nvidia & ATI, so bawa will feel (very appropriately) like a retard? the video card market is currently divided almost neatly down the center between those two companies, so Valve isn't going to release a game that only half of the people can play.

Hey, bawa... As was pointed out, that article is 5 months old. E3 came and went, and I don't recall any hoopla about it being NVIDIA only. Please, for the love of... whatever, try to find more current information before posting crap like that here.

The article I linked to was dated August 3. That's only a month ago, and after E3. The information in your article is outdated and, frankly, worthless now.

Not to mention that "information" comes from NVIDIA, and not Valve, which makes it propaganda in my book.

look i know the link is old but i ma post is not old and i didnt write this post on that link i sell games and hardware in ma hometown and before any 1 i get the news from dealers so keep posting them for u guys ;)
