no problem. my advice was kinda useless since i didn't know whether you had a digital-in on your TV, but still it was satisfying to get some bitchin' done re: the "no high-def from HD-DVD/Blu-Ray for component HDTVs" thing. those hollywood/electronics bastards!!!1 :P

Tell me about it. HDMI is the in thing now but give 2 years and it'll be something else. (HDMI carries audio and video but my DVI is just video)

The highest HD signal now is 1080i but 1080p will be making headway soon.
(of course, my TV can't handle it).:dry:

I wish my TV had 2 DVI inputs 'cause my STB uses DVI as well. The switchers are too expensive for what they actually do.

I never bought the Oppo and now I'm not.

Just yesterday I discovered my fucking Xbox upconvert my DVDs.:01:

I went into my Xbox settings and added 480p and 1080i, popped in Batman Begins and BAM!!, 1080i ON A NORMAL DVD!!!

It's not as good as HD but beats the hell out of 480p. Now I can watch all the movies I've been holding back on.
