remember there is only a cetain amount of ram the operating sytem can support.
also make sure the board can support, it, ur board will only support up to a certain size of ram, and also speed.

I got XP...atm: i have 768M, but was thinking bout adding another 512.
edit to add: i know theres a spare slot for it
i think xp can support alot, but win98 and me i think can only support up to a gig. i'll go find exact specs for all os's
768mb is quite enough, actually. more than most people have. if you were to install another 512mb, though, XP would be able to use it so long as your motherboard also supports that quantity. at that point, i would recommend disabling the Windows swap/page file (the RAM substitute which Windows creates on the hard drive) entirely so that the system relies entirely on the RAM... you would have enough RAM to do that easily.Quote:
