i've did defrag analysis on my hdd, and it comes up with 80% fragmented files on the 500gb hdd. after i defrag it it's still the same, nearly the whole bar is red. is this normal? shouldn't be right?

Try going to your hard drives manufactures website and download their utility. Run their analysis and see what that says.
