For starters you can upgrade to 3.55 and easily downgrade back to 3.41...
Also, these guys are not adding back up managers, but someone else will be VERY VERY SOON, just as they do the PSP. So it's only a matter of time before these custom firmwares support back up managers. Do you honestly think there are 2 people in the whole wide world they can code custom firmware? Now that he keys are laked, anyone one (mainly people at the PS3 sites) are already working on custom firmware with backup managers.

Soon, you will have no need to stay on 3.41 and you can throw away those stupid dongles, since jailbreaking blocks certain things that makes certain games/stuff not work.
So yes, within' a month, you will see custom firmware (for whatever firmware is out for the PS3 at the time) that will have homebrew/backup manager/games/PSN/DLC support.
