Fasttrack could survive if we could develop a new client that supports it so we can get rid of fake files, secure it from the RIAA, and put in some kind of ratio system to keep people from leeching.
Cerulean was able to make Trillian connect to AIM, MSN, ICQ, and Yahoo without ever looking at their source codes. I wonder why no one can make a new FastTrack client that does that, especially since it's so similar to the HTTP protocol.
From my understanding trillian just emulates those chat programs to connect but what your talking about when it comes Fasttrack requires an overhaul of the whole network, changing protocols and the like which of course requires the source code.
