IRC and port forwarding

If you have a router you must foward the same port range as youve done in mIRC also..

O I know that. I was just wondering about the security implications if any from my setup....not using the hardware firewall but using Sygate instead.

Well if yoiu have only selected ports or ranges open and have Sygate running you should be just fine...
