use gspot(it's in the k-lite codec pack) it will tell you if you have the right codecs installed.
Here's a link to download gspot seperately
http://www.headbands.com/gspot
but it doesnt seem to work at the moment.
I download version 2 of the pack and it still doesnt work... Would i have to install quiktime ??
gspot sais its an unrecognizable file :(
Try videoLAN or open it using VirtualDUB and see if there are any bad frames.
people use Xvid coz its better quality then divx
The best codec pack I've come across is SLD Codec Pack
uh... no they're not. :huh:Quote:

these xvid ones are just retarded.
XviD rules. its image quality and motion-handling are excellent, and it's no wonder that so many people rip movies with XviD.
The file you have is possibly corrupted.Quote:

Try opening it with a program like VirtualDub.
in the latest k-lite codec pack, there are two different versions/builds of Xvid, just wondering which ones you guys have installed/prefer?
I think im just gonna have to redownload it again. When i open it up with virtuadub i get the error
"The avi file doesnt have a movie datat block (movi)!"
and when i try open it up with videolan i get illegal operation error (xp versions :( )
but it must be something because when i open it up with tmpgenc, i can convert it into mpeg but with no freakin sound and i have this other prog that i can rip the audio with but then when i open the original movie in tmpgenc and then choose the ripeed wav for the audio, the output file is all outta sync. Like at the begining it would be fine and by the end of the movie its out like 4 seconds.
I actually whatched the whole movie like that to see if there are any glitches in the movie causing the audio problem but the movie is perfect.
Thanks for your help guys but i know this is one movie i will never convert over :(
Well this file anyways
