I wanna buy anti-virus - which is best?

I am using karspersy and zone alarm....

i think the kaspersky is more cute to personal user

my vote def. goes to kaspersky...i'd buy it too if i had the cash...as it is, i'll have to find more keys that aren't blacklisted :(

kaspersky im using the latest version, and its a must, light, and very easy to use.

do u have a working key by any chance? all the ones I had (and could find elsewhere) got blacklisted :(

i'm currently using the trial version but have only 3 bloody days left ><

I'm gonna have to throw my hat in for the new MS AV product. I haven't used it per se, but I have been using Forefront Client Security (MS's enterprise client) and MSSE uses the same engine/defs. Its been pretty good, light. Forefront doesn't annoy you, dunno how MSSE is in that regards.

AVIRA!!!!!! FTW as much as i like nod32 avira is one of the top picks the detection
rate is great and false positives arent high. I would use this over kaspersky too

Kaspersky is damn good. If you prefer not to spend your hard-earned (one assumes...) cash on it, downloading keys every three days is a mess - much better to use the trial version for 30 days then reset it. Sweet.

i love nod very very good stay away from norton it's too heavy on the ram

Why is it faster scanning or less resources ? I'v never heard of it . See it has free trials tho .

It used to be slow and heavy as hell as it used two separate AV's .
I heard they've changed but I don't really know except I think they've drop Kasparsky as one of the AV's.

ESET NOD32 works fine for me, I also tried avast, it wasn't bad either

I've tried most commercial and freeware alternatives. While Norton is generally bad, the 2010 beta was fairly snappy.

My advice for a free service would be a combination of Avira Free and Spyware Doctor Free (Part of the google pack). Running Spybot S&D as well as Hijack This! occasionally is worth doing as well.

As for paid services, none that i've tried have been very good. NOD32, while light on resources, misses a lot.

I have question for everyone using ESET Smart Security/Nod32 with illegit keys/logins, is it safe/advisable to submit the scanned problem files to ESET?

you can try MSE (Microsoft security essential) ,it is good & free .

eset nod is the best go to there site and compare the others dont even come close on many levels like performance, detection, false posatives, start up, and awards for best anti virus

I'm getting sick and tired of Eset telling me I have to update windows security patches , what a pain . Using ESS 4.0.314.0 wish they stop that .

Only thing is I'm using FireFox as my default browser so does n't connect anyway , what a joke .

I have kaspersky as right now i run on windows 7 64 bit, but its complete trash compared to zone alarm. They truely make a good program. I never once had a a problem with the software it ran so smooth and keep my computer clean as hell.

if you want to pay, it's kaspersky

Now I'm using the free antivirus from Microsoft+Windows 7 firewall , no problems yet.

sygate/nod32 ill upgrade to windoze7.1 next year thanks.

IMO eset smart security or Eset NOD32...

If you wanna be safe just turn off your PC,othervise choose whatever is cheaper.You will get infected sooner or later anyhow.
